PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure the safety of a boom deflection inhibiting device during retracting work. SOLUTION: The boom deflection inhibiting device includes a connecting condition acquiring means 51 for acquiring information about the connecting condition of a tension rope 14, a mast operating information acquiring means 52 for acquiring information about the elongating/retracting operation of a mast 11, and a mast driving control means 53 for issuing a warning or preventing the retracting motion of the mast 11 when the retracting operation of the mast 11 is carried out in the connecting condition of the tension rope 14. In this construction, when the warning is issued for the retracting operation, an operator invites his attention and then he can take action thereagainst, and when the retracting motion of the mast 11 is automatically prevented during the retracting operation, the operator immediately finds that the operation of himself is wrong after the retracting motion is automatically prevented and then he can take the most suitable action thereagainst.
