WIRE SEAL, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WIRE SEAL, AND WATERPROOF CONNECTOR

A wire seal which is configured so that the load of the work of closing empty chambers can be reduced without a reduction in the accuracy of injection molding and with an increase in cost suppressed to the minimum. A wire seal (30) is mounted to an inner housing (10) having formed therein contact containing cavities (11a, 11b) in which contacts are contained. When the contacts are inserted into the contact containing holes (11a, 11b) by causing the contacts to penetrate through contact insertion holes (31a, 31b) which are formed at positions corresponding to the contact containing holes (11a, 11b), the electric wires connected to the contacts make close contact with the inner peripheral edges of the contact insertion holes (31a, 31b), and this causes the wire seal (30) to perform sealing. Regions (A, B) which correspond to all of or some of the cavities which are to be empty chambers because the contacts are not inserted therein are closed.
