The invention relates to a decorative cover plate for a venetian blind roller and to a system for securing or retaining same, in order to provide a system that can be used to secure a decorative plate or cover designed conceal the components of a venetian blind roller, primarily the roller frame including the drum on which the tape is wound and the roller case housing the drum. The plate securing system and the plate are characterised in that no visible screws or additional securing means are used for attachment purposes.
