A closed gear engaging continuously variable transmission comprises a driving increasing-decreasing gear (5), a driven increasing-decreasing gear (6), a closed housing (1), a lubricating system, an electric control system and an automatic control system. The closed gear engaging continuously variable transmission of the invention is adapted for use in a large vehicle and a small vehicle, and provides large transmission torque. The transmission is non-skidding, and has simple and compact structure, and low manufacturing cost.
