PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that appropriately controls a display screen when the low power consumption mode returns to normal mode, and also to provide a method of controlling the image processor. SOLUTION: The image processor has: an identification information acquisition means which acquires first identification information that is input when an instruction for returning to normal mode is input while the low power consumption mode with lower power consumption than the normal mode is executed; and a display screen control means which controls an operation screen that is indicated after the returning is completed, on the basis of the first identification information.
