PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition and an optical film that has low birefringence while having high optical characteristics and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition includes a cellulose-based resin (A) and an acrylic resin (B) that has a glass transition temperature of 110°C or more, exhibits negative intrinsic birefringence, and has specific molecular structure or anα,β-unsaturated monomer unit having a heteroaromatic group.
