PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a plastic component with plating in which a plating-fitted plastic component can be separated into a plastic member and metal plating without pulverizing it, further, purity and yield can be improved, and the effective utilization of resources can be achieved. SOLUTION: Regarding the method for treating a plastic component 12 with plating in which metal plating 11 is formed on the surface of a plastic member 10, the metal plating 11 is rapidly heated without being melted or thermally decomposed, and a part or the whole of the metal plating 11 is peeled from the surface of the plastic member 10 according to a difference in thermal expansion between the plastic member 10 and the metal plating 11.
