PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation member adequately filling up space between it and a vehicle body, and having excellent sound insulation effect. SOLUTION: The sound insulation member 20 includes a shielding section 30 which is installed at an end of a cover body 22, and fills up space between the cover body 22 and a frame 14 of the vehicle body 12. The shielding section 30 includes an abutting wall part 32 which is installed consecutively to the end of the cover body 22 through an integral hinge 36, and is bendable and deformable inward and outward with the integral hinge 36 as a fulcrum; and an abutting sound absorbing part 34 which is swellingly formed in a projection shape in the abutting wall part 32, and defines space between it and the abutting wall part 32. In the shielding section 30, the upper edge of the abutting wall part 32 is abutted against the frame 14, and the abutting sound absorbing part 34 is pushed against the frame 14 by bending outward the abutting wall part 32 with the integral hinge 36 as the fulcrum.
