PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swaging device with which occurrence of wear in the introducing part is suppressed and which is excellent in durability, and to provide a swaging method by which products are worked stably over a long period of time. SOLUTION: A swaging die 23 includes a base stock passage having an introducing part 30 the diameter of which is reduced along the base stock feeding direction from the upstream side toward the downstream side, a working part 31 which is provided to the downstream side of the introducing part 30 and run off 32 the diameter of which is expanded from the upstream side toward the downstream side along the base stock feeding direction from the working part 31. A preliminary working part 35 the diameter of which is reduced along the base stock feeding direction on the upstream side of the introducing part 30 and with which the base stock S is brought into contact in the early stage is provided. The inclined angle of the preliminary working part 35 is set smaller than the inclined angle of the introduction part 30. The preliminary working part 35 and the introduction part 30 are connected continuously through a radial part 36 the center of curvature of which is positioned on the side of the base stock passage.
