PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope of reduced dimensions which is able to provide 2D and 3D images, and which is usable in a range of minimally invasive surgical procedures. SOLUTION: A system for medical imaging, the system comprises: a wireless imaging device 40, the imaging device 40 comprises: a transmitter for transmitting data through a plurality of light sources 50 and a wireless communication link 56; a processing device which processes the data received from the transmitter and which calculates intensity of each light source 50 on the basis of a reference image and on the basis of the input image received from the transmitter; and a control unit for wirelessly controlling each light source 50 of the plurality of light sources 50 on the basis of the calculated intensity of the individual light sources 50.
