摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional MTF correction method that MTF characteristics of an image input device and an image output device are necessary to be measured in advance at many points. <P>SOLUTION: A first photographed image of an object photographed by a camera and a second photographed image of a printed temporary output object photographed by the camera are input. Then, frequency characteristics 32 of the first photographed image show frequency deterioration C through the camera MTF with respect to frequency characteristics 31 of the object. Frequency characteristics 33 of the printed temporary output object of the first photographed image show a frequency deterioration P through the printer MTF with respect to the frequency characteristics 32, and frequency characteristics 34 of the second photographed image obtained by photographing the temporary output object further show frequency deterioration C through the camera MTF. A difference between the frequency characteristics 32 and 34 of the first and second photographed images is a sum (C+P) of the deterioration C through the camera MTF and the deterioration P through the printer MTF, and accordingly MTF correction is performed using the difference as a correction amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
