The invention relates to a device with a magnet arrangement having at least one permanent magnet, where the device displays a magnetically active, first contact surface for fixing it in place in a contact position on a magnetisable base. To extend the possible uses of the device, it is proposed that a signal-emitting functional device (6) having a functional element (6.1) be provided that can be actuated automatically to trigger the signal when the first contact surface (5) of the device (V) contacts the base (U), either by the dead weight of the device (V) or parts thereof and/or by the force of magnetic attraction acting between the first contact surface (5) and the base (U).
