Disclosed is a battery pack provided with at least one lithium ion rechargeable battery, a voltage sensor, and a control unit. When the battery discharges, the control unit controls the discharge of the battery with a relatively high discharge stopping voltage, when the battery is used with a relatively low frequency. Meanwhile, the control unit controls the discharge of the battery with a relatively low discharge stopping voltage, when the battery is used with a relatively high frequency. Usable capacity is thereby prevented from decreasing more than the actual decrease in capacity due to an increase in frequency of use.
