PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for generation of a registered pet image to improve search performance of an image which matches the registered pet image. SOLUTION: An imager 16 has an imaging surface for capturing a field, and repeatedly outputs raw image data. A CPU 26 verifies image data of YUV form based on the raw image data output from the imager 16 with feature quantities of a plurality of face patterns stored in a general dictionary GLDC, and extracts one or more face patterns whose degrees of verification exceed a reference value to a register RGST 1. The CPU 26 also generates the registered pet image on the basis of the raw image data output from the imager 16 according to the first extraction of the face patterns, and selects a face pattern to be used for the search of the image which matches the created registered pet image from among the one or more face patterns extracted to the register RGST 1.
