PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a deterioration in the packet arrival rate of "communication apparatus of a CSMA/CA system" in communication with "communication apparatus of CSMA/CA system". SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes: a reception circuit 12 for receiving a data packet and a return packet transmitted from another terminal; and a transmission circuit 19 for transmitting a return packet showing a detection result of the data packet of the another terminal after a prescribed period when a packet detecting section 13 detects the data packet only in the case where information for transmitting the return packet is included in the data packet received by the reception circuit 12.
