PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kneader which caries out uniform kneading by solving a problem that a clearance is too large in a wetting state before kneading and too small in a diluting state after kneading, thereby making kneading operation efficient. SOLUTION: In a kneader including a kneading vessel housing a kneading material and two parallel rotors kneading the kneading material housed in the kneading vessel, the distance between the bottom part of the kneading vessel and a rotary shaft of the rotors can be changed.
