The automatic analysis device is provided with: a source specimen container for accommodating a source specimen; a pretreatment container for pretreating the source specimen dispensed from the source specimen container; a source specimen dispensing mechanism for dispensing the source specimen to the pretreatment container; a reaction container for analyzing a pretreated specimen dispensed from the pretreatment container; a pretreated specimen dispensing mechanism for dispensing the pretreated specimen to the reaction container; and a control unit for controlling the dispensing of the source specimen from the source specimen container to the pretreatment container performed by the source specimen dispensing mechanism, in accordance with information about the type of specimen and/or whether or not automatic retesting has been set.</p>
