The cylinder 7 of a helical screw plodder for soap and detergents has a removable corrosion resistant liner 6, e.g. of stainless steel, spaced from the cylinder 1 to form a flow path for a cooling liquid. Baffle fins extend longitudinally of the cylinder 7 to define a labyrinth like table for the cooling liquid. The helical screw 3 preferably has wear resisting qualities superior to that of the replaceable liner 6. |
