PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for electric double-layer capacitor which exhibits high electrical conductivity over a wide range of temperature, from a low temperature to a high temperature, to provide superior electrical characteristics, when it is used for an electric double-layer capacitor, and to provide the electric double-layer capacitor fabricated by using this electrolyte. SOLUTION: The electric double-layer capacitor contains a pyrazolium composite salt expressed by Formula (1) as an electrolyte and is fabricated by using this electrolyte. A salt, in which an acid component X<SP>-</SP>contains BF<SB>4</SB><SP>-</SP>, PF<SB>6</SB><SP>-</SP>, CF<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>, N(CF<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB><SP>-</SP>, N(C<SB>2</SB>F<SB>5</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB><SP>-</SP>, N(CF<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)(C<SB>4</SB>F<SB>9</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SP>-</SP>, C(CF<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>and C(C<SB>2</SB>F<SB>5</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>is especially preferable.
