Cleaning device with actuating component

The device (110) has a transport unit (118) for transporting items (120) to be cleaned via a cleaning zone (126). A sensor (182) i.e. height limiting sensor, for detecting the items is accessible from outside by a user. The device enables transfer of control commands to a controller (178) by actuating the sensor. The commands are chosen from a group consisting of a stop or start operation of the unit, a change of transport speed, a start or stop operation of a pump e.g. main rinsing zone-pump (148), a switch-on or switch-off operation of a fan (170) and reversal of a transport direction (130). An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a cleaning device.
