The rocker panel assembly has a rocker panel lateral section (6) designed as a closing section to form a rocker panel hollow section. The rocker panel lateral section and a rocker panel reinforcement member (12) are made of aluminum. The rocker panel lateral section is realized in a cross-sectional manner, and is fixed with a connection area in the rocker panel assembly. The rocker panel lateral section is directly fixed at the threshold channel portion (10). A rocker panel connecting part (25) is arranged between the rocker panel reinforcement member and the rocker panel lateral section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rocker panel assembly of a vehicle body.
