PURPOSE: A sled servo control apparatus and method of an optical disk drive are provided to efficiently prevent an error from generating in the IEMF(Inverse Electromotive Force) operation of a sled motor. CONSTITUTION: A controller revolves a sled motor in a forward direction. The controller moves an optical pick-up(21) as many as a predetermined distance in the circumference direction. The controller revolves the sled motor in a reverse direction. The controller moves the optical pick-up to an initial position corresponding to the specific area of the inner circumference of the optical disk. The controller normally reproduces or records data after focus servo and tracking servo operations.
