PURPOSE: An image reading apparatus by using a document stand and a reflection reduction layer is provided to reduce the re-reflection rate of the document stand. CONSTITUTION: A document stand(310) includes a platen(311) and a reflection reduction layer(312). A first layer and a second layer are coated on the reflection reduction layer. The refractive index of the first layer is smaller than the refractive index of platen. The refractive index of the second level is bigger than the refractive index of platen. The refractive index of the second layer is bigger than the refractive index of the first layer.
