Production of polymers with neutral shades, comprises adding a blue and/or red dye at one point before entering the last polyreaction step. The adjustment of neutral shades of the polymer is performed when a total dye concentration in the polymer of up to 3, preferably 1 particles per million and a portion of the blue dye in the dye mixture of at least 50 wt.%. The adjustment of neutral shades of the polymer is performed when a total dye concentration in the polymer of up to 3, preferably 1 particles per million and a portion of the blue dye in the dye mixture of at least 50 wt.%. The adjustment of the a- and b-color values takes place independently in the lab color space with the steps comprising determining a- and b-color values of the polymer without the addition of dye, determining the total dye concentration with respect to the b-value adjustment to be achieved, determining the required mixing ratio of the dyes red and blue with respect to the a-value adjustment to be achieved and dosing the fixed amount of the dye mixture into the reaction mixture. An independent claim is included for a polymer product with neutral shades prepared by the above process. |
