PURPOSE: An array substrate for a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display device and a method of fabricating the same are provided to reduce power consumption by minimize the parasitic capacitance between a data line and a common electrode. CONSTITUTION: An array substrate for a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display device comprises a gate line formed on a transparent substrate, a gate insulation layer formed on the gate line, a data line(130) which defines pixel region by crossing the gate line, a TFT formed on the intersection of the gate line and the data line, a pixel electrode(138) formed on the pixel area by being connected with the drain electrode of the TFT, and a first and a second protective layer which are formed on the front side of the substrate. |
