<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of reducing its size, lowering costs, and improving reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor has a detection element 10 having a contact gas part 11, a main body metal fitting 4 holding the detection element 10, a protective cover 2 covering the contact gas part 11, outlet terminals 71 and 72 electrically connected to the detection element 10, lead wires 81 and 91 electrically connected to the outlet terminals 71 and 72, an insulation member 5 insulating the outlet terminals 71 and 72 from each other, and a first metal cover 3 holding the insulation member. The insulation member 5 has a main body part 51 and a flange 52. The first metal cover 3 has a small diameter part 31, a large diameter part 32, and a stepped part 33. In the insulation member 5, one side of the flange 52 is brought into contact with the stepped part 33, while the other face of the flange 52 is pressed and fixed by means of an elastic member 6 forcedly inserted into the large diameter part 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
