发明名称 Improvements relating to means for feeding bottles to a bottle conditioning plant
摘要 744,334. Endless chain conveyers. LIQUID CARBONIC CO., Ltd. Aug. 7, 1953 [Aug. 22, 1952], No. 21831/53. Class 78 (1). Bottles are fed to a washing- or other conditioning-machine by a continuously moving elevator having longitudinally and laterally spaced lifting fingers each engaging an individual bottle in a guide channel adapted to confine the bottle laterally on all sides, whereby successive groups of bottles are elevated. As shown, the fingers 64 have stems 63 passing through slots in the guides 53 forming the channels 52 and are carried by cross bars 58 extended between endless roller chains 38 running on guides 42, 43. To enable height adjustment of the elevator the lower chain sprockets 36 are mounted on a shaft 44 carried in bearing blocks 46 slidable between flanges 49 of a frame 47 which is slotted to receive the shaft. The elevator framework incorporates a detachable part which can be replaced by another of different length by which frame 47 can be connected to the frames of different washing machines. The angle of the elevator is also adjustable by varying the longitudinal separation of these frames. The bottles are fed to the channels 52 by an endless belt 19 running between side plates 33 associated with frame 47, oscillating guides 31 directing the bottles into rows aligned with the channels. The upper ends of the channels are continued by open curved channels 76 having slots 78 for the fingers. A widening of each slot near its remote end allows the fingers to pass through while eccentrically mounted pairs of blades 81 on a rotating bar 82 engage the bottle, one blade of each pair partially pushing a bottle into a holder 11 on the conveyer 10 of the washing-machine, while the other blade completes this movement. Driving gear. Stop mechanism.-The drive sprockets 37 of the elevator, and the rotating bar 82 are driven through separate clutches 102, 92 and 111, 112 from a shaft 94 in turn driven by a sprocket chain 118 from the washing- machine. Each driving plate 102 or 111 of the clutches transmits power to the driven plate 92 or 112 through balls 108 each engaging in a cylindrical recess in one plate and a conical recess in the other such that if the elevator is jammed the balls ride out of the conical recesses and force the driving plate away from the driven plate, freeing the clutch and simultaneously operating a micro-switch 109 or 115 adapted to cut off the driving motor of the washing- machine. Specification 703,229 is referred to.
