The semi-finished product for melting in the course of the production of an alloy, comprises a tubular and thin-walled casing body made of metal, and a filling material with one type of metal parts made of another metal or alloy. The casing body has a cover. The metal parts of the filling material are pressed with one another and/or are provided as a molded body. The casing body area-wisely deformed to engage with the metal parts of the filling material. The filling material has recycled chips and/or wastes. An independent claim is included for a method for a producing a semi-finished product.
