The device (30) has a return line (26) for discharging lubricant-gas-mixture from an internal combustion engine and an exhaust-gas turbocharger, where the lubricant-gas-mixture is fed by lubricant (20) present in a receiving chamber (34) of the device using the return line. The line is opened out below a lubricant level (24), where the receiving chamber is integrated in the line. A valve adjusts the lubricant level in the receiving chamber depending on temperature of the lubricant and comprises a bimetal and a spring element.
