An electronic component (11) and a sensor for steering angle detection are arranged within the steering rim, where lubricating oil within the steering rim discharges heat produced by the electronic component of the unit. The sensor is integrated in the electronic component that is designed as a drive controller, a drive control and/or a steering control. The steering rim is designed as a steering hollow wheel. A frame connection (3) of the unit undertakes functionality of a frame plate.
