The accumulator (16) has a hollow body (33) for forming a storage space (34) for fuel, where the storage space exhibits volume (V). A supply port (35) for supplying the fuel is connected with a high pressure fuel pump, and a drain port (32) is connected with a fuel injector. A displacement body (37) i.e. bladder, is made of elastic material and provided in the storage space, where volume of the displacement body is changed based on pressure (P) in the space. The displacement body is filled with gas i.e. nitrogen, where modulus of elasticity of the body is smaller than that of the fuel.
