<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter/receiver that has high performance, high reliability and is low in cost. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter/receiver includes a circuit substrate 2 with a connection terminal 5 for electrically connecting to information system equipment; an optical connector 14 for connecting to a transmitting and receiving optical fiber; an optical transmission assembly 3, mounted on the circuit substrate 2 and provided with a light emitting element for converting electrical signal from the circuit substrate 2 into an optical signal; an internal transmission fiber ribbon 13t, connected at one end to the optical transmission assembly 3 and connected at the other end to the optical connector 14; an internal receiving fiber ribbon 13r connected in one end to the optical connector 14; and an optical receiving assembly 4 which is mounted on the circuit substrate 2, provided with a light-receiving element for converting optical signal from the receiving optical fiber 13r to an electrical signal, and which is connected to the other end of the internal receiving fiber ribbon 13r. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
