The present invention refers to a scientific image processing system comprising a first module (M1) for image acquisition of a plurality of first image formats and image conversion into a standardized second image format; and a second module (M2) executing specialized processes (33, 34, 35, 36) on the basis of said standardized second image format, wherein a third module (M3) controls supply logistics (OV; 46, 47) on the basis of the processing of said second module (M2), wherein said standardized second image format is kept in a first temporary storage area (41) and a second temporary storage area (42).
