METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LINEARIZING POWER AMPLIFIER

PURPOSE: A method and device for linearizing a power amplifier are provided to eliminate a need of using a training signal, thereby eliminating a need of temporarily stopping the operation of a system. CONSTITUTION: A distortion information extractor(422) extracts distortion information by using an input signal and an output signal of a power amplifier. A controller(424) divides the range of a level of the input signal into a plurality of sections. The controller increases a counter value of each section which belongs to the level of the input signal whenever the input signal is inputted. The controller supplies the extracted distortion information according to the comparison result between the counter value and a preset threshold value. A pre-distorter(426) compensates for the nonlinearly feature between the input signal and the output signal of the power amplifier using the distortion information supplied to the controller.
