BACK LIGHT UNIT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight unit and liquid display device using the same are provided to restrict bright line which is shown on a display image and realize a local dimming, thereby a liquid display device can be slimmed while improving a contrast characteristic of the liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: A first light guide plate array(201) has a plurality of first light guide plates side by side arranged according to the first direction. First light sources(203A) are arranged to respectively face a plurality of first light guide plates in one end side. The first guide plates examine the light. Each first guiding plates has a pattern region(P) which has a minute pattern on bottom surface and a non-pattern region(NP) which dos not have a minute pattern. The non pattern area is formed to include a constant distance from a boundary with neighboring first guiding plates.
