The present invention concerns a vehicle body member for supporting at least one seat or seat chassis positioned in the vehicle body and for resisting side impact collision forces, the vehicle body having a floor module with a center sill (2), a left side sill (3) and a right side sill. The vehicle body member (5) comprises a combination of a seat or seat chassis supporting element (6) and a vehicle body enforcing element (7), the elements both being elongated and extending transverse to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body under the at least one seat between the center sill and one of the side sills, whereby the enforcing element is arranged lengthwise inside the supporting element and is carried in a fixed position by the supporting element, while the supporting element is fixed to the floor module.
