[Also in Divisions B8 and D1] In an electromagnetic device the non- cylindrical iron core 5 is itself used as the shaft for the winding of the coil which is wound on a former 7 which rotates about the axis of the core during the winding process. Curved segments 6 are introduced between the core and the former 7 to provide a cylindrical surface coaxial with the core, these segments being subsequently removed. The former 7 is rotated by a friction wheel 10 touching the edge of a flange 9 on the former. The flange 9 has a flat 12 which causes an arm 13 to operate a counting device (not shown).</p> |
