Producing polycarbonate injection molded body or extrudate, comprises (a) introducing one or more injection molded bodies and/or extrudates consisting of polycarbonate in a reactor, (b) inerting the atmosphere of the reactor until an oxygen content of 10 ppm by volume or less is reached, (c) introducing a fluorine-inert gas mixture that contains 0.5-20% of fluorine, (d) repeatedly evacuating and flushing the reactor with inert gas and then with air after fluorination and (e) flushing the injection-molded body or extrudate with surfactant-containing distilled water and pure distilled water. Producing polycarbonate injection molded body or extrudate, comprises (a) introducing one or more injection molded bodies and/or extrudates consisting of polycarbonate in a reactor, (b) inerting the atmosphere of the reactor until an oxygen content of 10 ppm by volume or less is reached, (c) introducing a fluorine-inert gas mixture that contains 0.5-20% of fluorine, where the total pressure in the reactor during fluorination lies at 0.3-0.7 bar and the temperature in the fluorination lies at 10-50[deg] C, and the process time is 10-60 minutes, (d) repeatedly evacuating and flushing the reactor with inert gas and then with air after fluorination, and (e) flushing the injection-molded body or extrudate with surfactant-containing distilled water and then with pure distilled water.
