PURPOSE: A fluorescent lamp is provided to reduce damage of a liquid crystal by reducing the ultraviolet ray intensity with a wavelength to less than 310nm. CONSTITUTION: A light projecting part is formed at an upper part of a liquid crystal panel(30) in order to emit an ultraviolet ray. A pair of outer electrodes are arranged on an exterior of an airtight container. A fluorescent material layer in which the fluorescent substance is laminated is formed at an inner wall of the airtight container with a light transmissivity. The fluorescent material layer uses the cerium activation magnesium barium aluminate based fluorescent substance. The sealant(32) is covered between two sheets of substrate(31) in a frame shape.
