PURPOSE: A transparent display device is provided to improve brightness in a display mode by supplying light which is reflected from a light guide plate to a liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION: A transparent display device comprises a liquid crystal panel(16), a light source(10) which is placed on the lower part of the liquid crystal panel, a first polarizing panel(12) which polarizes light from the light source, a light guide panel(14) which supplies the polarized light to the liquid crystal panel and penetrates natural light from a lower direction, a second polarizing panel(13) which controls the amount of light which is transmitted from the liquid crystal panel, and an optical sheet(20) which is placed in the lower part of the light guide panel.
