PURPOSE: A liposome composition containing a liposome having pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide antigen is provided to prevent pneumonia without a carrier protein. CONSTITUTION: A liposome composition contains a liposome in which pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide antigen is encapsulated. A compound forming the liposome phospholipid selected from phophatidyl choline and phosphatidyl ethanol amine; and cholesterol or derivative thereof selected from cholesterol and cholesterol hemisuccinate. The liposome further contains monophosphoryl lipid A(MPL), muramyldipeptide(MDP), or poroxamer(PX) adjuvant. The liposome is dispersed in an aqueous medium.
