FIELD: information technologies. ^ SUBSTANCE: technologies are described to carry out token service passing in order to maintain call continuity for user equipment (UE). UE may maintain communication with the first cell in a radio access network (RAN) for a call with packet switching (PS), for instance, to transfer voice along Internet protocol (VoIP) by means of high-speed packet access (HSPA) in W-CDMA. UE may send reports on measurements to RAN and may receive start-up signal from RAN. UE may establish a call with channel switching (CS) with the first cell, while the PS call is delayed in the first cell. The PS call and the CS call may be intended for a voice call, and UE may switch data track for a voice call from the PS call to the CS call, and then end the PS call.
