PURPOSE: An electric motor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to easily pull out a permanent magnet from a rotor core when the electric motor is repaired as well as to reduce maintenance cost. CONSTITUTION: A stator(120) winds coils on an inner circumference. A rotor(130) includes a cylindrical rotor core(131) and a permanent magnet(139). The rotor core, installed within the stator, forms a pair of slots(137) in a longitudinal direction which are symmetric on the basis of a diameter of either slots, and has a gap with an inner circumference of the stator. The permanent magnet, inserted into either slot and gets symmetric on a basis of the diameter of either slot. A rotary axis(160) is combined with a center part of the rotor. An end ring(140) is combined to one end side and the other end side of the rotor core while covering an outer circumference of the rotor core. A cap(150) is combined with the end ring and prevents the permanent magnet from separating from the rotor core while covering the inner circumference of one end side and the other end side of the rotor core.
