PURPOSE: A DAS apparatus assigning an access area for each user and a method thereof are provided to prevent the interference, security and loss of data by restricting an accessible storage area per user. CONSTITUTION: An interface receives an assignment command of an access area per user about storage media(300) from a host. An access area allocation unit(230) assigns the access area per user to a storage area of the storage media on the basis of the assignment command. A allocation information storage unit(250) stores the assignment information of the access area per user. A controller(210) offers information about the storage media and the interface according to a request of the host. The controller generates the access area allocated to the user into a device and permits the access to the access area of the user. |
