The invention relates to a resistance welding electrode (1) having a shaft-shaped holder (2) and an electrode part (3; 3′) in the form of an electrode cap (5) or a pin electrode (7) which are non-positively connected via tapered surfaces. Furthermore, cooling bores (9) are also present. In such a resistance welding electrode (1) the tapered cone angle is in a region of about 1 degree to 3 degrees and the holder (2) and the electrode part (3; 31) are connected such that the holder (2) and the electrode part (3; 3′) are further in axial contact with each other via a radial surface contact (6), and the edge (15) of the electrode part (3; 3′) facing the holder is restrained in an associated reception recess (16) on the holder side by means of reduction. |
