PURPOSE: An apparatus for acquiring position information of an underground pipe, and a method thereof are provided to economically and accurately acquire 2D coordinate data of an underground pipe while driving on the underground pipe. CONSTITUTION: A distance measuring unit(150) measures a distance in a longitudinal direction according to a travelling distance while travelling on an underground pipe. A sensor module(140) measures 2D inclination of the underground pipe while travelling on the underground pipe. A driving unit(120) is driven so that a travelling unit(130a,130b) travels on the underground pipe. A control module stores 2D coordinate data according to the measured distance of the underground pipe and 2D inclination. The control module controls driving the driving unit. |
