PURPOSE: A plastic substrate having a coated inorganic barrier layer is provided to prevent thermal stress and to maintain stable junction. CONSTITUTION: A plastic substrate having a coated inorganic barrier layer comprises: a substrate made of plastic, and an inorganic barrier layer. The plastic substrate is used as a flexible display device. The plastic is PEN or PET. The inorganic material is magnesium oxide(MgO) or zirconium dioxide(ZrO_2). A transparent electrode layer is formed between the substrate and inorganic barrier layer. A flexible display device comprises the plastic substrate. The flexible solar cell device comprises the plastic substrate.
