The present invention relates to a direct drive generator for a wind turbine which has a set of wings, the generator comprising a stator and a rotor arranged next to and rotatable relative to the stator to generate electricity. The rotor comprises a first rotor part configured to be connected to at east one of the wings of the wind turbine and a second rotor part facing the stator. At east one torque transmitting element is positioned between the first and second rotor parts to drivingly and compliantly couple the first and second rotor parts. |
