The module (1) has a metering valve (3) with a valve tip (5) held in a housing (6) fastened to a flange (8) of an exhaust gas pipe. A thermally insulating device (28) e.g. cavity, is arranged between the housing and the flange. A thermally insulating element (29) is arranged between the valve tip and the housing. The insulating element is designed as a retention sleeve (24) made from a thermally stable and insulating material. The cavity is formed by an intermediate element (9) e.g. hollow rib (10), supporting the housing. The cavity is formed between the intermediate element and the housing. The insulating element is designed as the retention sleeve made from a thermally stable and insulating material e.g. Teflon(RTM: PTFE).
