摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having excellent viewing angle characteristics and nearly free from variation of display characteristics depending on environmental humidity. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes a first phase difference film (10b) on a backlight side, and a second phase difference film (10a) on a display surface side. (1) The first phase difference film is made of a predetermined cellulose acylate based polymer. (2) The second phase difference film is a laminated film having a core layer mainly made of a predetermined cellulose acetate and a skin layer mainly made of the predetermined cellulose acetate. (3) The value related to the photo-elastic coefficient calculated from (formula 1) possessed by the first phase difference film is larger than the value possessed by the second phase difference film. (4) The moisture permeability of the first phase difference film is higher than the value possessed by the second phase difference film.
